The Leaving Cert Geography Exam has a Geographical Investigation (Fieldwork) element which is worth 20% of final exam. It is carried out early in 6th Year and each student must submit their report by April of 6th Year.The title for the investigation for 2017 is :
 An investigation of the impact of the process(es) of transportation and/or deposition on the formation of one glacial, fluvial or coastal land-form. 

The Exam

The written exam is 2 hours 50 mins long for both levels and, similar to Junior Cert, has a section of short questions, as well as longer topics.
